Last week, we stepped away from the daily grind of office life and immersed ourselves in the world of craftsmanship—trading keyboards for clay, and Teams for the potter’s wheel. During a pottery workshop in Cologne, we deliberately hit pause on our digital routines to focus instead on hands-on creativity.
“What did we take away from the experience?”
A Change of Perspective Does You Good
Typically, our daily work takes place primarily within the digital realm of healthcare communication. Our afternoon at a pottery workshop reminded us just how helpful analog stimuli can be in sparking new ideas.
Concentration Can Be Truly Relaxing
Pottery practically compels you to slow down. After all, it requires two steady hands, undivided attention, and patience. It was astonishing how deeply this focus allowed us to decelerate while simultaneously inspiring us.
It’s Simply More Fun Together
The pottery workshop demonstrated exactly what defines our daily work life: collaboration, coordination, a shared understanding, and plenty of humor.
And what came next? First, we washed the clay off our hands, and then we headed out for a delicious meal—because good food is simply an integral part of who we are. The very next day, we continued with renewed motivation: our annual and strategic planning for 2026 was on the agenda. And here, too, it became clear: the combination of a change of scenery, creativity, and dedicated team time is what truly makes the difference. We look forward to many more projects and shared experiences throughout the rest of this year.
